Good photo op for those in or near Manchester

There's a scheduled fuel protest scheduled for this Thursday starting at 8:00am.

Over 1,000 bikers are said to take part, meeting at Birch motorway services (on the M62, just North of Manchester) and starting the protest at 8:00am, riding into the city (some making their way to Salford keys, others to take main roads into the centre of the city).

The protest is against the high cost of current petrol prices. Also expected to be joined by a fleet of Lorries and Taxis.

Going myself to try and get some good shots, protests are always good opportunities

Unfortunately by announcing this protest they have invited all the Police along, why can't we do a protest French style?

Great opportunities though if there's a decent turnout.

presume from there they just hop onto m60

hmmm 20 minutes from here to the middleton rd a576 ...that would be the first turnoff on the m60 and a good place to take pics of 1000 oncoming bikers... might have to go look at that... would need to be there 7.30am I would say.. make sure theres a good spo and setup..

it'll probably be birch, m60, then possibly middleton / blakely > city centre, or prestwich > centre

middleton seems best then... got to get them coming towards you.. bonus if they come off there but still good photos if going past. cant come off before there.

Yeah KIPAX I live in Salford so will leave here at like half 6 or 7 to get a good spot.

I was planning on getting on one of those bridges over the motorway, get some good shots from there.

Yeah the Police always heat things up a bit though, makes for better shots

Oh and yeah it's the Birch services near Middleton. Then the M62 to the M60 and then into the city.
