Just thought I’d share some good news for a change.

I’ve just had a phone consultation with the clinical oncologist at Jimmies regarding my prostate cancer. Basically she’s discharged me back to the urological consultant because, in her words, the radiotherapy has given a textbook result. My PSA is now at an undetectable level which means that my prostate cancer has gone away (as much as any cancer goes away). I shall probably be on 6 monthly PSA tests from now.

Steven,

Having been where you are now, I had a cancerous kidney removed, and was then told it had been completely successful, I know the feeling of complete relief you are feeling.

Best wishes for the future.

It's nice to hear a bit of really good news these days

Nice to hear the good news, I had mine removed 9 years ago and still clear. Glad you managed to keep yours.
Early detection and treatment is so important, I just wished I had gone to my GP when I first started having to go for a pee numerous times in the night.

That’s good news for a change, son in law’s dad is undergoing treatment at the moment, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

There’s a high success rate for treating prostate cancer these days. Best wishes to him.

Must admit I should really have seen the GP earlier, but saying that when I first mentioned it to my doc a few years back when we lived down south, he poo-pooed my concerns and wouldn’t even give me the test. My current GP was really on the ball. It’s been 8 months between seeing her and final clearance. Great work by the NHS.
