Hi all,
My name is Chris and I'm from the Midlands, UK.
I have registered here as I have a burning desire to get better at taking photographs.
I have been taking basic photographs since my parents bought me a very basic camera when I was 8 or 9. Since then I have a variety of different makes of camera but all have been the basic point and shoot type, which is fine until I want to take a better photograph.
At the minute I take a lot of pictures of my dog, running, walking, sleeping etc however we are planning to start a family soon and felt it was a good time to start to learn to take photos properly while I have time to learn and while I have a bit of money to invest in a decent camera.
After much consideration I decided to go for an entry level just in case I didn't want to persue this as a serious hobby. The camer I opted for was the Canon EOS 1100D which I got for a really good price brand new.
I'm not looking to do anything professional however It would be nice to eventually enter a competition or two if I were able to produce anything half decent.
I do however have a bit of experience with photoshop (self taught) and some basic experience with the theory behind taking a photos, such as rule of thirds etc which I picked up some time ago but I am far from being anywhere capable of taking a good photo.
Anyway that's me. I look forward to talking to some of you soon
