Good morning from Mainz/Germany

I am here, because since my days as an exchange student at Wallingford Grammar School, I have always loved England ...

Having retired after 30 years working internationally as an IT consultant, I have even more time for photography now.

My main interests here are travel, architecture, automotive, nature and art.

justpix I chose because I want to leave equipment and theory discussions behind, focussing on pictures.

At present I am trying to get an overview of this forum, to see, where I fit in, and where I can benefit ---

Herzlich willkommen! I too am an IT guy (software testing specialist), still sadly working despite 40 years in the industry, my current contract just keeps getting renewed! Still, it keeps me off the streets and able to indulge my hobbies.

There's plenty to photograph in the area of Mainz - I lived and worked in Taunusstein for a few years in the 1980's, so I'm a little familiar with the area. Right now I guess we are getting into the WeinFest season, good for street photography.

I look forward to seeing your images on here - although I must admit that I haven't shared much of my own work yet and must start uploading.

Thank you for your friendly welcome! Taunusstein is quite close to Mainz. We had friends in Bad Schwalbach, which is close to Taunusstein.

The grape harvest is beginning right now - 3 weeks earlier than usual due to the current heatwave.

I have opened a US-car thread as a starter. A Classic Car thread will follow. I have too much material, so I am going through my pics to find the most appealing ones for this forum.

But I must take my time ...
