Hello all.

Just a bit about me, I’ve had SLR's for a while and been playing around. Have had a Nikon D50 for a while and love it, but am eager to upgrade to a d90 or d300s subject to funds. But i think im going to spend some money on some new glass first.

I shoot a lot of random shots and love it. More recently I have really got into taking shots of boats, particularly hi-performance dinghies. I am embarking on a GCSE Photography evening class in September, which I’m really looking forward too. I feel that i need to get a little bit more know how as with all people with SLR’s Joe Blogs public assume you can take wonderful shots and sign you up for things..... like work openings/ events. I’ve even stepped in and shot a wedding due to the pro not turning up!!

Really got back into taking shots on honeymoon in Kenya, wish I had a bigger bit of glass but seemed to get some nice shots.

might post a few shots to show you, after all i am here to learn!

Would have liked to get a few cm's of shot above the elephants head to put the focus more onto the centre of the elephants head.

Gutted i missed the bottom of the lions foot here, think that a few more cms at the bottom of the photo would make it much better.

no, its a lovely little area about 30 mins from me. im stood on the road taking the shots, they were about 10 feet away! Just had a look through your flikr gallery, and am well impressed.
