Yes
so working towards end of year and selling house and heading over to the Greek house on Crete and while we have Greek bank accounts I also want to keep my UK bank/CCs but will not have a true UK address, anyone done this? maybe gone off grid, mobile home etc and what did the banks etc think?

I don't personally but I do help someone who does. Biggest issue is security. If you need to activate a new bank card/ transfer money/ they send you a text to verify you are who you say you are. If the text is received in a non UK country they will need more security and to be honest more often than not they will just not play ball.

oh i am ok with the mobile thing i will be keeping my UK mobile no issues
its just the physical address in the UK i will give up

My point is some of their security software flags up that your UK sim card is not in the UK and thinks possible security issue?
It then escalates this for manual checking, this is the part that some jobsworth decides it's a scam and declines the request.

If you are resident overseas you will breach the T&Cs of your provider. And they will know.

We lived in the USA for 18 years and maintained a Uk bank account. No issues but this was before mobile banking

seems like the internet answer is just use some of the virtual banks that are springing up.
i already have a REVOLUT card and just pinged them and they said just change your address to the house in Greece we don't realy care :)

My sister has been a resident of the Netherlands for the past 40+ years and has maintained accounts with several UK banks without any problems. She has always been up front with the banks.

The only issue she's had in all that time was renewing her UK drivers license without having a UK address. I can't remember how she sorted that one out.
