Going from two to three flash heads

If I buy a 3rd flash head, will I need anything else to help it sync with the other two, or will my current two head Elementals setup work fine as it is? I just wondered if I need anything to help trigger the third flash, or whether the hotshoe trigger will just fire all three flashes in the same way it currently does with two?

By the hotshoe trigger do you mean the pop up flash on the D90 or a wireless trigger?

If the former then it should be fine as the other 2 heads will fire it if you put it on slave.

If the latter then no need for another trigger, just put the 3rd head on slave and let the other 2 trigger it.

It's a wireless trigger on the hotshoe, so I'll just go ahead and buy the extra head.

Yep . As long as the 3rd head can "see" the others there should be no problems. When i do studio work i usually fire 4 heads (two in a lastolite hilite) with just a SB 900 on Manual 1/128. Certainly saves on recievers
