Hi
Does anyone know where i would get a spare battery for the PB820?? It stopped charging and I contacted Godox without any luck. It was left idle for about 2 months, and i read somewhere that it should get a charge every couple of weeks to keep the batteries alive??

Thanks In advance

John

I just bought generic nicad pack with leads off of ebay. Cut the plug wires and solder them to the new pack; back in business. Nicads self discharge and if they get low enough they won't take a charge w/ a standard charger ("smart" chargers will refuse to charge below a certain voltage as well).

Thanks Steven Ill have a look, that might work.

Got to be honest I'm not getting this, I have had mine for a couple of months now and only charged it once, and only used a couple of times, I hadn't charged it since then and on reading this post it worried me so I got the light out today and it was still fully charged, I then plugged it into the mains for charging and the light was on red, it went onto green in about just over an hour which indicates fully charged, I would have to suggest you may have a faulty battery unless you've had it for quite sometime that is, how old is it ?

Mine had been ignored for over 6mo. and was probably partially discharged to start w/. My PB820 is also about 2yrs old (maybe more).
I only use it to power my SB800 as I also have a PB960 with Y-cable for the AD360.

I hear you, I had it about 15 months without bother, but I was using it twice a week. Then it was idle for about two months, plugged it in and nothing. Brought it into an electrician friend who put his meter on it,to say the pack had 1.2 volts in it.

Contacted Godox to be told they don't sell replacement battery packs and its out if warranty,so basically tough sh**. That was after about three weeks waiting on a reply.

I don't think that Godox understand the concept of customer support, so no surprise there. And there are a lot of problems with their batteries.
It might however be worth trying charging it (for no more than about 15 minutes) with another charger that has a much higher rate of charge, this can often kick life into nicad batteries. After this initial surge charge, charge normally until fully charged.

will give it try Garry,I have nothing to lose at this rate.
