For a while I`ve had a Gmail Account for Personal use but recently have had to open a 2nd Account for a Club Membership e-mail.

The problem is that I can only Access my own Account on Firefox and can only open the Club e-mail on Chrome, any attempt to open the other Gmail Account in each Browser immediately opens the default Account for that Browser??

Is there any way to open the 2nd Account from with-in Gmail, I`ve tried all options and Help. with no avail.

Just to say that I find Gmail the Biggest load of C**p in existence but have to use it as it`s Club Policy.

I access my Gmail account from Apple Mail - you can use whichever email program you have. There is no need to use any web browser.

If you are going to use a web browser, i suspect that you need to log out of your Google account and then log in again for the other account.

Yes, AFAIK you can only have one Gmail account open on any one browser. You can collect mail from other accounts within one gmail a/c but maybe not appropriate here.
On a Mac/iPad/iPhone use Apple Mail or on Mac/Windows/Linux useThunderbird.
I use the web gmail for some club emails because they let you have 500 (I think) addressees on BCC for mailing lists but only 100 (?) in Thunderbird etc.
BTW the latest gmail iOS app lets you collect several accounts at the same time but I read it does not have a unified inbox (like Mail Tbird etc) so still a pain but it may be what you want.

Yep I'm pretty sure that's the way it works too.

Do you not use a mail client either pop3 or IMAP? then you can just download all the mail to separate in boxes.

It might be worth thinking about something like Thunderbird, its free and easy to set up / use.

I regulary do it. But a quick n nasty way is to use a Private browsing / incognito window. It is just keeping track of you with cookies. Or the other option, is click on your picture at the top right of any Google Window and you should see an option to "Add another account", so you can sign in to both and switch using that widget.

You can have multiple gmail accounts in a single browser.

In chrome for example, assuming you are logged into the 'browser' with one google ID, your name will appear in the top right of the browser window. Just click on it and add in the other account and then use this button to switch between them at will.

I do this all the time for my home gmail and my work email.

Actually I should mention that some Gmail for work admins can restrict if you are allowed to log in to other Gmail accounts at the same time, although it is probably unlikely in your case.

Whilst not an issue until May when GDPR kicks in, how is your club ensuring that the email addresses aren't stored on US servers and how are you (re-)establishing consent to send mails.

I can't see how a Gmail account will meet the new, stricter rules.

Yep, same here. I have my personal account as well as 2 work accounts and I can have all 3 open at the same time in Chrome.

You can’t avoid email addresses contained in emails being stored in USA or China or wherever they go. The club email addresses that I have are in a FileMaker Pro database on my my machine and I do not use Gmail addressbooks.

Sorry, but what is GDPR??

The new data protection act - it classes far more info as personal, is a lot stricter about what you can do with the data and has much harsher penalties.

For example, you have to explicitly state exactly what data you store, why, for how long, who will have access. You cannot infer that you are OK to use the data for another purpose. You have to have free access for people to check, correct and remove data.

It's a minefield for clubs and businesses. For example, we run a club where a responsible member takes people out on an adventurous activity. The work to ensure we have the correct data, people are happy for the data to be used that way, only the right people see the data and that the data storage is correct has taken a few months. We decided against Gsuite and Gmail as we couldn't garuntee EU servers.

and as others have said, Google will ensure their tools provide you with the means to remain compliant in so far as they can.

This gives a more email centric view of the impact.
