Hi all. Looking or some advice on A3 glossy or lustre paper for a Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer.

I've been a bit of a Scrooge and have been using up my mismatch of papers over the last year or so with variable results. Of the papers I've had, my Olmec Photo Glossy Heavyweight (260gsm), seems to have given the best results (with minimal colour casting), but as I'm now nearly out of paper, rather than just order the Olmec again, I'm wondering what other papers are people using. My requirements are (in no particular order)

1. Glossy or Lustre (never tried lustre on this printer so might give that a go)
2. Doesn't cost the earth - I know there are speciality cotton rags etc. out there, but this is for general home printing not gallery prints, so cost is a factor.
3. Works well with the canon genuine inks and gives minimal colour casts and preferably has ICC profiles available.
4. Does both colour as well as B&W.

I've never tried the obvious i.e. Canon Papers so was wondering if they are the best (performance vs price), or if there are other recommendations ?

Just received and set up over the weekend a Canon Pro 100s.
Used the A4 sample pack of Pro Platinum that came with it and for the very first print just hit the print button from Photoshop and let the printer control colour.
What came out was astounding, exactly the same as per my monitor screen.

Then it occurred that I hadn't set any parameters, I checked what these were and "standard print, non-photo quality"
But as already said the print was excellent.

I work at a large format printers which use the 60" wide Canon imagePrograf 12 ink printers and this knocks that out of the park.
We also print up to 5 meters wide by 60 meters long which is where the large format comes in, just thought I'd mention.

So not completely helpful regards other papers I know, but hopefully if you decide to splash out on Pro Platinum you won't be disappointed.
I have read over & over that the Matt papers aren't as good!

I use Canon or Hahnemühle papers with the associated ICC profile. I print from Lightroom and let Lightroom control the colour. I also use Canon inks. I have never had any luck with other suppliers.

I hear, though not tried, that letting the printer control the colour gives acceptable results also. But you must have the correct profile selected.

The Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II and the Luster papers are very good. The Pro Platinum papers are excellent though if you don't need archival prints are a bit expensive.

Regarding the colour casts. They could simply be a matter of the ICC profile not matching the paper. You do have to get them to match to get reliable colours.

Just run out of inks for my old iX4000 so will be setting up the Pro-100 soon. Have usually used Ilford Galerie papers in my previous Canon printers but always with genuine Canon inks and have prints over 10 years old which are still good.
