Hi there

I'm quite new to tabletop photography - and have been doing quite a lot recently. Mainly of print work for my portfolio (i'm a graphic designer).
I'm getting half decent results but my shots are not quite there.

I'm getting some glare on my overhead shots when sooting a slightly shiny surface. How can I reduce the glare? See my shot:

Im aiming to achieve this:

My equipment is 2 x 60x60 softboxes generally angled at 45 degrees onto the table from either side. My camera is a Nikon d3100 and i us a Nikkor 35mm and a 60mm Macro.

Look at the shape of the book (the curvature of the pages) and ask yourself whether having a light each side is helping or hindering...

Just turn the book round 90 degrees and you've pretty well solved the problem:)

This tutorial on the Lencarta Blog explains the principles
