Hi folks,
I have been looking at 2 Gitto tripods on the net.
Giotto's MTL9361 B Tripod + MH5001 Three Way Head Kit
Giottos 9351B Pro Tripod with MH5011 Head.

Anyone have any experience of these in use or if you can suggest alternatives. I would be using it mainly for some landscape and macro phorography. Any assistance welcome.

Thanks,
Melmount

I have one of the professional travel tripods from giottos which is very good (except in high wind, but thats a caveat of having a super lightweight tripod). The quality is excellent so I would imagine the others are similar.

I've got the MTL9351 with the MH5011 head, although I've now swapped the head for the MH5001. Unlike the 5011, the 5001 uses the same QR plate as the majority of their other heads, which makes for less faffing about if you have any others.

I've not found any problems with it, and love the flexibility of the centre column, which can get in almost any position you wish. The only niggle is that to use the short columns you need to swap the top plate over, but that's easily sorted by buying another one from Giottos for about £15ish.

I was to buy again, I'd get the carbon version, to save a bit of weight

i got the same and its GREAT for the price,i like the way you can use the arm and have the camera out away from the tripod or drop it down and have it sitting on the deck.

Hi again,
Thanks for all your input, I may decide to go with the 9351 with the 5001 headm either way I think I'll go with Gitto because of the flexibility of the centre column. Thanks again for your quick responses.

Melmount.
