Hey guys,

I'm shooting a gig tomorrow and want to take my film camera with me. I've got 60mm and 80-200mm f2.8 lenses but nothing faster than that so am looking to get higher shutter speeds by using some fast film. Can anyone recommend anything? I was looking at what Jessops have and they have rolls of Ilford Delta 3200 film. Anyone with any experience of that film? I don't want it to be so grainy as to be unusable but don't mind a bit of grain for art's sake :) Any other films recommendations are welcome. I think I will probably need to be shooting around 1600 ISO. I'm planning on shooting both colour and black and white. My mate will be shooting digital and I'll have my D300 with me too but wanted to do a bit of film for ***** and giggles.

Cheers,

Welly

Could always push process a slower film to a higher speed film?
That gives cool results, fat grain and high contrast :)

Ok, maybe I'll do that. Get a few rolls of Ilford HP5 and some Fuji Superia and see what happens :)

I always used to use Fuji Neopan 1600 for concerts, not sure if they still make it though....

Was never very popular was it. It seems that it's still around in the US, so hopefully there are online places that will be able to ship it.

I always liked it more than other high speed options and would happily use it if I had the need/chance. :)

You can still get this in 35mm at 7dayshop.

Do let us know how you get on. I'm shooting a gig soon (March 9th) in film (and digital). I've got the Neopan 1600 and a 3200 (can't remember if it was ilford or fujifilm right now).

Looking forward to seeing your results.

Neopan 1600 is stil widely available.

I've run a couple of rolls and downrated it 800. Quite nice it was too.

Just a thought, but the colour process mono films have a very wide exposure so you should be able to shoot them slightly underexposed and still get good prints/negs. xp2 or Kodak CN

Ah good to hear it is still around ;)
Wonder if there will ever be a Neopan setting on my 1ds?

I've just picked up a roll of Neopan 1600, a roll of HP5 and a roll of Superia 800 for some colour. I'll be interested to compare how these different films turn out. I'm hoping I can push the colour film to 1600 if I need to! Anyone any thoughts on this? I'm off in about an hour :)
