I've got a big old smiths classroom windup clock, clear to read and its got three buttons on the top, go, stop and reset so dead easy to set and reset on the go.

The person who i got my Dev gear from has also made a rather nifty electronics box, which allows you to set the exposure time on a knob and just press 'Go and it turns the light on the enlarger only for as long as its set for, dead nifty, although ive never used it!

the enlarger I have 'on loan' has a proper timer that does all that automagically, just give it a time (in .1s) and it does it :D

lol we do need to redefine loan at some point as I did remove it at half 11 without really telling anyone :whistling:

You need some toning chemicals. Toning is tres cool.

harsh its all going back where it came from in october - probably

also its sepia blue and selenium toning

just need to speed my sis up in the darkroom curtain making front

All you need to do now is.....

Find your personal EI.
Work out your dmax and dmin for your paper.
Work out your dev times.
Go shoot :)

Seriously though, enjoy. I spent most of my teenage years in a darkroom with my pa and I wouldnt change it for the world. It taught me that scanning and digi printing was soooo much more fun than wet printing (mostly due to dust lol)

Oh - and of course the fun of producing an identical run of 5 wet prints for a customer... especially when the initial one was the result of someheavy-duty dodge and burn action
