Hi,

Im Looking Into Doing Photography As A Career, Been Thinking About It For Years. Finally Got The Confidence To Take It Further.

Was Wondering How To Get Started. What Courses To Take etc???
Please Can Someone Give Me Advice :)

Rachel, good advice above and I'd also rope in as many interesting (and willing) people to get portraits of to build that portfolio. Do it for free just to get a body of work built up. Think about the types of portrait you'd like to do - some people like traditional stuff, other people like contemporary styles that aren't as posed.

Don't worry too much about kit; just get the confidence to run a shoot and use your time to its upmost.
 
How Would I Start A Portfolio?? Like Developing My Pictures??
 
Just take shots and cherry pick the best - process them print them and put them in a folder/on an iPad/on a website etc, etc...

You already decided she is going wrong ? :)

A portfolio is more important than any qualifications... Some would argue a good qualification can help you towards a good portfolio.. seems overkill to me :)
