I haven't posted a lot on here recently, the main reason is that i have been manic with work, no mojo when out and ready to give up...

I've noticed a couple of people with similar problems and as I now have a week of work and some disposable funds to play with I though I would get out and about and try something new, something I ahve come to realise anybody can do at anytime by putting a little bit of thought behind it, for those that don't know me you'll realise that outside of work I plan as little as humanely possible!!!

I've invested in a new camera and really want to get out, meet some new people and hopefully if all goes well, get some superb shots to add to the collection!

I thought I'ld start a post here as it seems the most appropriate place, a mini 52 if you will...

Day 1
A full and manic day of work which nearly stopped the week before it had started, finally got out of work on time and jumped in the car to Cardiff ready for a full day walking through the Neath Valley hunting my first real landscapes and misty river shots... A tad concerned with tomorrow though as my cousing cycles 100 miles for fun, I'm out of breath running up the stairs!

A night with a tad of tv and a couple of glasses of wine, tomorrow off to pastures new and hopefully broaden my horizons in terms of photography.

Day 1 -
Miles covered 104.6

Ah, it's here this time, have fun tomorrow and good luck, think you will need luck to keep up :D

Day 2 - Waterfalls and discovering how unfit you really are!

Hopefully get some photo's up soone rather than later. I don't want to honk how many miles I've walked today, I feel broken!

The Brecon's are absolutely stunning, it was rather grey so practiced with the ND's and waterfalls of which there are plenty, even managed a couple of the sleeping giant before the sun disappeared completely. I can't wait for some crit as think I may have some landscape shots worth some crit!

Miles covered 154

Day 3

I feel broken this morning, the weather is shocking so think it's time to pack the car for a four own hour drive up to the loop, hope for better weather and see what's happening at the loop!

Hope it's dry up there, wonder if you need earplugs as I haven't got any. Am sure I'll find out lol.

Hope you got your stomach sorted after that drive you mentioned, was it as bad coming back down ;) :naughty:

1 down for me, 3 left then can join the trip :D

Day 3 - part 2.

Well a late entry for day 3 as the Internet is about as reliable as a French cars electrics!

Please, please, please think about where your going if thinking about a togging holiday! I set the sat nav up to get me to cad west where I am now safel tucked up but, and a big but, if your scared of heights check the route to get somewhere!

The drive yesterday scared the bejesus out of me, hammering with rain, strong winds and narrow mountain passes with big dropps and 1/16 drops. I've Everett needed a drink so badly.

I arrived in The Minniford Hotel early afternoon but didn't realise it was so remote, an early early night last night and now up stupid o'clock for day 4. At least the skies are looking clear, well at least I can see a load of stars so guessing they're clear :)

2 down 2 to go, roll on Friday :naughty:

Day 4 - The defeated!

How you guys can go up and take shots is beyond me!!!
This morning I realised how unfit and more importantly how scared of heights I actually am. I parked in the layby walked back to the style and looked up a very steep climb and gace it a go, before long the heavy breathing started and legs started to feel like jelly. Not where you want to be with the wind blowing heavily down your back and seeing clouds come over the top of the enarest big mountain.

Another three attempts and was still a long way to get to the top and then I did the stupidest thing of all I looked down! My head started spinning and my main concern was how on earth was I going t get down the hill!

Nobody else was around and my phobia won, I made it down the hill slowly, got to the car, regained my breath although my back and legs are still sore and headed off!!!

How any of you lot can stand on the top of a mountain with your eye glued to the eyepiece is absolutely beyond me, I'll have to admire those photo's on here...

At least on the plus side I tried it and learnt that it is definately not for me!

That's a shame, but hey, you tried, that's the main thing :D

Don't give up Ryan, sounds like it's been a voyage of discovery so far.

Am back at home but will find something to do tomorrow, am now ready for an early night, t'was a five hour drive home from the Loop but was dissapointed in myself so my own bed tonight!

Will figure something out for tomorrow and then upto Donna Nook on Friday where I have been assured the walks are a lot more horizontal :D
