i would describe myself as pretty switched on when it comes to PC's/Mac's but this one has me foxed :shake:

I have a Canon D350, i have all the software disks, i have a Mac Mini and a Macbook.
When i first got the camera i loaded the software onto the Mac mini, it all appears to be on there correctly, so a connected the camera to the Mac, switched the camera on and the red light flashes a few times, the camera display shows 'busy' and then then nothing......

I have tried starting EOS utility and camera window seperately, both of them show the error message "camera not connected" The camera is connected via a USB lead that we know works and is not connected via a hub.

I have been on the Canon site and downloaded the newer software and installed that, no joy, i still get the same issues.

I have followed the same procedure on the Macbook, and again the same errors, i have uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing.

Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong, or recommend alternative software, i have aperture but that doesn't do exactly what i want from the editing software.

Thanks in advance

Not that it's much help, but I simply connect my 500D to my Mac Mini or Macbook using the USB cable and it's automatically detected in Aperture or iPhoto. No need for any drivers or Canon software.

If you've tried on 2 machines, sounds like you might have problem with the camera? You can always take out the SD card and connect using a USB stick?

Thanks for the quick reply.

This is what was concerning me, one thing i havent looked at, is there something within the camera settings that would cause this issue?

Can you set it in the menu for the type of USB connection? My Nikon asks for mass storage or PTP (mass storage when i want it to appear on my desktop, PTP when it's connected to capture NX) - maybe this is happening :)

have you tried using the Image Capture software on the mac? I find that a good download tool.
