Yes
I've bought a 2nd hand canon body that came without the software discs. I'd like to get hold of DPP and EOS utility as I've used them before (I uninstalled the software when I sold my old camera) and I'm missing it as the software was useful.

I've looked on Canons website and there is a software updater download, but I can't see the software available for download.

Anyone know if the software is available for download or do I need to speak to Canon and try to get some discs?

cheers

Andy

There have been a couple of threads on here in the last week with potential work arounds.

I've installed the version of DPP from the linked site and it will view jpegs OK, but won't preview the CR2 files from my old 40D. Do I need a raw plugin or something to view Canon RAW files?

cheers :-)

No DPP should open any `CR2 files, I suggest you go to the Canon US site, download the latest version of DPP say from the 60D software download (it has some improvements over earlier versions anyway particularly with regard to sharpening) and that should see you ok. Once you have any downloads the rest shouldn't be a problem.
Let us know if you have any more problems.

ps if you are really stuck, I'll copy a software disc and send it on, pm me your details if you want this.

Thanks, that's a kind offer :-)

I'll try updating it first and see if that works.

Thanks

Thanks for the help guys, I've updated the version of DPP to 3.9.3 and installed raw codec and it's working great now.

Just need to find an version of EOS utility so I can update that too :-)
