I used to take photos a lot, I was self-employed as a photographer for a year or so before the struggle of pulling in enough money to live on became too much, killed my love for the art and I went and got a real job (kinda!) I'm involved with marketing and design, so I sometimes get to use my photography skills as a part of that, but not often enough and I want to have more fun :)

Now I'm trying to get back into it as a hobby, more specifically the model/ fashion side of things which is what I've always done (cheap Flickr plug, if you wanna see my old stuff.) I've done a couple of shoots in the last year, but all the old tricks like finding locations to shoot at, and coming up with shoot ideas are failing me.

I just wondered if anyone could give me some tips, pointers or inspiration to help me feel less like a grumpy old man about it all when I'm only 25 :D

Well I can't speak for your subject matter but I know what you mean.
I sold up and left photography for various reasons but I always missed it.
A friend upgraded and I bought his Canon 1000D, what with getting behind the viewfinder again, coming back here, getting inspired by some of the photos posted and looking through my old photos, I just thought the time was right.
I really enjoyed all the meets I have been on with other members here as well as there are some truly inspirational people on the forum amd I plan on doing the same again.
Have a look at the google map in the meeting section, you might find a few others in you area.
I've never been interested in shooting people much unless it was street photography and I have moved location and starting to find some really nice local places that are worth a visit, even more so no spring is on the way.
Perhaps having a google around may give you some good ideas for potential locations, go have a look around?
Even when I lived in North London it would only be a 30 minute drive before I was away from the hussle of modern life.
Nature and wildlife are my biggest two passions when it comes to photography and you might find some interesting new locations that you have never visited before.

Thanks for the replies, perhaps I should have a good walk around and check out any new locations. I prefer to work at indoor locations, personally, which doesn't help matters! Got to ask people very nicely to use their nice restaurants/ buildings, I'll get looking around for inspiration again :)

I am on Purpleport, it's a great place for seeing some amazing work. I think I went a bit overboard and tried to organise too many shoots when I first got on there though, taking it slow and just organising the one at the moment. Baby steps!
