I was wondering if anyone knew who I need to approach to acquire a photo pass, specifically at Rock City. There's a few gigs I'd like to get a pass for but not sure on the procedure. Some years ago a colleague at my work place got me a pass for The Damned at Rock City and would love to photograph them again, but I also have an irritatingly high level of social anxiety so find it hard to ask around for answers. If I know specifacally who to ask and what to say I should be good with trying to ask for one, much appreciate any feedback. :)

Call the venue and ask, they will most likely tell you to ask the band's management company.

Are you working for a media outlet that is going to give the group publicity? If not.....

Contact the artists management (Via the venue may be easiest) and tell them what you want to do. Expect to be asked who you will be working on behalf of and possibly to provide free use of images.
I'm assuming that you are confident that you can produce the goods.

Contacting the band directly always worked for me, but I guess it depends on the band and if the band have a direct say in thier managment..
It got me on an all expenses paid plus €1500 salary, 2 week tour around Europe with one of my favourite bands on the tour bus with them. It also led to a job offer as a drum technician for them, but thats a different story.
