I have a very slight mark on my 17-55mm Lens (does not show up on pictures) what sort of cost will it be to get it done and where can I get it done.

I've just hired a cement mixer so i'm going to try that with some sand and water, will throw in all my gear to give it all a proper clean.

Seriously though, are there any glass polishes that can remove blemishes on the glass or does it have a coating on the glass that shouldn't be polished?

Use a clean microfibre cloth, lens pen, or lens tissues - different people have different opinions, but I certainly wouldn't use any polish on them

Barry Scott recommends Cillit Bang to clean everything, so I use that on my lenses and sensor!! :D :D

A tip from a tog mag that I read recently - Rizzla fag paper.
Breath on the glass, wipe away with the paper.

Although I haven't tried it myself yet........

Well, I've used glass polish on windscreens, watch faces etc which managed to remove very fine scratches but it may be too abrasive for optical grade glass?

Most lenses have some kind of coating on them which may react with the polish.

If its a fine scratch toothpaste might work, it is just about the mildest abbrasive available, but again it might react with any coating on the lens but it would be minty fresh :)
