Gel Bleaching

I have just been playing with Gels and Flash to try and get a bit of interest in my backgrounds.
When I came to pack everything away I noticed that the two gels I had used ( Red and blue) exhibited a bleaching effect , there was a bleached out line directly in front of the flash tube.
The gels were those supplied with the Godox flashes and I suspect that the bleaching is caused by the UV component of the flash.
These are obviously not high quality gels given they are included with the price of the flash so my question is what should I be using or is this normal behaviour and I should be buying cheap disposable gels.
Any Help would be appreciated

many Thanks

Chris

Since your gels are already partly fnurked, try leaving one out in direct sunlight (behind a piece of card with a small hole cut in it, maybe in a corner) to see if that bleaches in a similar manner. Like you, I would suspect cheap, surface coloured gels are the problem and that more expensive (well, better) ones would be fine with extended use.
