Well done

well done.
i heard on the radio the usually yearly results bashing. dont these people realise that the reason we have a large problem with disassociated youths with no respect for each other is because every chance that kids have to achieve something theres people out there that knock them and say things like 'it easier than it was in my day'. If people would actually see the bigger picture and give these young adults the respect (and congratulations) they deserve then theres a good chance they might have a bit more confidence, self belief and motivation to go out there and do something with their lives.

Well done mate - very similar results to me last year.
A tip for next year - work hard all year for your A-Levels and do well. I got BBCD and regret not working harder. (I got my GCSE results with practically no work so thought I could do the same for A-Levels..!)
Congratulations Dion,
If I knew you I'd buy you a lemonade to help you celebrate
Not even vaguely close mate but this thread isn't the time or place for my opinions on the matter. Some of the things I've heard on the radio today have made my pi55 boil.
You're right in that we shouldn't be taking anything away from the students though, it's the system which is at fault.

What are you doing now then? Going to College or finding work?
Congrats btw.
Thanks, I'm going to the 6th form for 2 years to do business studies, graphical design and electrical technology.
I might take on a night course in photography aswell.
Hopefully UNI in bangor or cardiff then!
Dion!
I fully agree whitewash, it is so typical now that the newspapers have the headlines written weeks in advance ready to bash the system, they know their story before the results are released.
Sooner or later someone will notice that the standard of teaching as well as the majority of students attitudes towards school has improved. They do the work and get the rewards. Once schools needed to attain targets, Teachers were required to help the whole class not just the gifted pupils. Even in the years since i passed my GCSE's i've noticed a BIG difference in the methods used to teach my younger relatives.

On another note I'd still like to know what's happened since I passed my GCSE's 12 (OMG) years ago, i took 9 exams like everyone else in the school. Dion has taken 11 and someone on TV today had taken 13. Where have these extra subjects sprung from ? Just curious![]()
Thanks to all of you for your positive comments and congrats!
Dion!

he will need at least 10 A grades to get into Oxford or Cambridge.
They've upped that . . . in my day they didn't really care about GCSEs, it was all about A-Levels and how you did in the entrance exam / interview.
