I don`t really need a full on 4x4 anymore, so my beloved Patrol could well get moved on.

The wife has had two of the older Honda CRVs for a few years, never had any problems with them, never been let down or broken down.

I`m thinking of getting the newer six speed 2.2 diesel. Any of you guys in the trade had a dealings with the newer model, anything to check up on or are they like most other Hondas, pretty damned good?

Thanks.

My secretary has one. Loves it. No problems with it so far. She would have moaned to me by now, if there were. :) I had a drive of it and I was rather impressed.

Thanks Kev, they hold their value pretty well too.

The wifes CRVs have both been superb, she only swapped as got shunted by a large van and the older one was written off, which is making me lean towards them.

For the little off road work I do now, I can manage with either the quad or a tractor. The older CRV seems decent off road as well, for a crossover type thing. Reported MPG seems pretty good at 43 mpg combined.

My Dad has one. Its just turned 270k and still on original clutch. Apart from servicing its never needed anything.

Super strong vehicle

Thanks Matt, I think I may get one of these, all the reviews say they are good, but I like hearing real world experience, so thanks for your input.

Just to Add I had a civic 2.2 same engine and did 170k no issues apart from needing a clutch when someone t boned me and wrote it off.

Have a look at autotrader. Search for really high mileage ones. That'll give you an idea of what they are capable of

A mate has had a CRV for years with no issues except the Sat Nav costs an arm and a leg to update.

Thanks for all the input , it is appreciated.

Ive been a shogun owner for over 20 years and had absolutely no issues at all I am reluctant to jump ship - However I have had a look at the new CRV and it looks great there is a 5 year warranty / service package and 0% finance on them at the moment too.

Honda is or has been No 1 for reliability for years and you only need to chat to an RAC or AA man about what cars they mostly get called out too and its not Hondas - after my life in the trade I only ever serviced and replaced Brake pads and occasional discs on Honda cars and the occasional clutch on older peoples cars who ride the clutch a lot

I had a friend with 140k miles on a civic and another with 200k cars still tight and very nice to drive! The secret with Honda's is servicing - fresh oil and filters and you are set.

Thanks for your input Bill, it is appreciated.
