Yes
I put my car (BMW 520i) into my local garage when I heard a grinding noise from the front wheel. I was expecting a huge bill, but it was only £58.75p, but when I examined the bill:
parts £8.75p
labour £50 (just under two hours) :'(
Turned out it was a broken pin which just needed to be replaced.

I've never needed to put my camera in for repair, are labour charges similar?

£50 for upto 2 hours is pretty good compared to some other garages at £50 plus PER HOUR !!!!! i always ask for quotes and get second opinion if sus. happy motoring, BMW, nice!

£50 labour for 2 hours is pretty reasonable IMO. Try taking it to a BMW dealership and see what that would quote! When mine went in for service I asked them to change the wipers. They charged me for the new wipers (obviously) and £18.75 for 15 minutes labour to fit them!

Ah, I see your point, the bill wasn't big enough!!!

As a BM driver, your use to having things in excess.....paying for optional extra indicators for show, the BMW lane on motorways and the big repair bills to talk about at the golf club.

I know of mass market car dealers outside of the M25 who charge in excess of £80ph +vat and luxury marques over £100

Only kidding about the BM stuff :D

my local dealer wants a nice round £65ph last time i checked...

And some garages are so rubbish that when they say we haven't quite finished they charge you rent as well ;)

Nowt wrong with BM drivers matey :bat: - My last full service was only £250 so  - I'm sure their rate is around £100 per hour though
As for the BM motorway lane I never knew about them but my mates at the golf club say they're great
Paul

I don't think I have had my car in for anything and come away with a bill of under £60 (often nearer £600 if something is wrong  ).
My local BMW garage are £80 per hour for labour, so you've not done badly.

i need the brakes doing on my focus to retain the warrenty, but i dont want to be charged excessively to fit them as they offered me "replacement brake fluid" at the last service for a nice neat £99 which i thought was taking the ****...

should i do it myself, fit genuine pads and disks and hope no one notices?

Whitewash.....i thought you were in the trade :suspect:

As long as you fit genuine ford parts you have no issues with warranty.

Stop being a tart and get it done :D

i am in the trade, well im a glorified mechanic anyway,

just dont want to **** up my warrenty thats all as i plan to shift the car on before the warrenty expires

If your discs need replacing are these not covered by the warranty. Wouldn't have thought they were a general wear'n'tear item like the pads.
