Specs look good as do the previews. I'm not sure about the F4. Who's pre-ordered one ?

No it's like F4, it will say so on the lens. It's an APSC specific lens so it's F4 for APSC no matter how the equivalence whores swing it. You only multiply aperture if you're more concerned with DOF Vs actual light gathering. I thought everyone knew this

Think I'll stick with the 16-55 2.8, this one looks more an upgrade to the 18-55 2.8-4. I'm sure it'll be decent but I don't need OIS using the X-H1, and prefer the extra stop of light over the extra FL. If I used an XT1/2/3 and owned the kit lens I might fancy it though

I am not going to pre-order but I'll keep a close eye on this for its performance. Might replace my 24-105mm with this+X-T30.

kinda yes (more like 24-105mm f6) . You still get the same amount light as an f4 lens though. The DoF is equivalent to f6 on FF but tbh I don't have such a zoom lens to have half an eye-lash in focus. I have large fast FF primes for that :p

What aggression? I swear only on here do people take things so personally. I wasn't calling YOU an equivalence whore, Just in general, it's like a trend lately. So unless your intent was to be challenged on it you'd see I was merely explaining. You did put a '?'

It would be pretty nice on an XT30 for travel as an all-in-one. They are claiming 6 stops of OIS too

It's 440g, so a bit lighter than the 18-135 if you've ever used that on an XT30? so less front heavy than that, it's shorter too which might help

I like that it's got 0.25x magnification and can focus down to 35cm even at 80mm. It can also auto-detect when you mount it on a tripod and switch off OIS

Damnit Fuji, stop releasing new stuff - I haven’t got to grips yet with the other new stuff I bought ;)

Any ideas on a realistic date when this lens will be available?
 
Going to buy, but won't be pre-ordering as I am going to trade-in my 18-55 + one more lens I hardly use. Looking forward to having the extra reach I miss with the 18-55. 24-105 was my go-to lens when I had Canon 5Diii so this will fit my needs perfectly.

Noooo ... RELEASE MORE!! I would prefer to see a budget friendly alternative to the 100-400,, maybe a 70-300, and also an update to the 60mm macro - one of their first, but also slowest focusing lenses.
