FUJIFILM FinePix XP140 Tough Compact Camera anyone used one ?

Hello all,

I was thinking of buying one of these to replace my everyday carry camera which is partially broke ( lens cover gets jammed) Are they really made any tougher than a normal point and shoot ? I will get a hard case anyway as this is my third point and shoot I have killed this year ! Over the years I have froze cameras, soaked them ,bashed them so this sounds ideal at that price !

I have an older version of one of these which I used to carry about for the worst weather conditions or greater risks. It's nice in principle to have a camera that is tough and a 'beater' but the image quality caused a degree of frustration. The camera can be dropped and submerged but in anything but good light the sensor wasn't really delivering what I wanted - and in poor light the images became mushy.

So I think whether it works for you dependeds on whether there have been any major improvements and how it delivers against realistically moderate expectations.
