Hi and welcome to TP

As @AndrewFlannigan points to, reading the manual is a good step. Having said that other than that as you have already re: xD cards, I could not find what maximum capacity the camera will handle

As for sources, I see that Amazon shows a brand I have never heard of but at £69 not cheap.

Best of luck with your learning journey:)

thanks Box,the manual and camera is 20 years old, todays technology has improved since then.
need to find what limits that work with camera.

I missed that it also has a Compact Flash (CF) card slot.

Searching has this AI overview

The Fujifilm Finepix S9500 supports both CompactFlash (CF) and xD Picture Cards, with a maximum capacity of up to 8 GB for CompactFlash cards. While it also has an xD card slot,xD cards have a much lower maximum capacity, typically around 2 GB. It's important to note that the camera's internal circuitry significantly limits read/write speeds, so even high-speed CF cards won't perform optimally.

So, it is worth looking for CF cards at up to max 8GB

But a word caution using CF, there are connection pins in that socket and over many years there were reports of users of cameras with that type of memory card, having an issue with bent pins.....the prime reason for this was a misalignment and too much force being used when inserting the card.

Your camera as you point out is old ........so it might be worth inspecting that socket with a torch to look at the pins to ensure they are ok!

PS as for technology improving, yes but with older tech cameras you rarely have access to newer technology e.g. such as SD cards which now have various iterations in regard to read/write speeds and that there are now UHS-I and UHS-II variants.........and even some current cameras can't use UHS-II version.

Looking around, the maximum CF card that will fit is a 4GB, if the camera has firmware V1.2, otherwise it is limited to 2GB.
