I find i like changing settings using the dials, aperture ring etc, to me it's part of their charm. If you don't like it that way you can always map those settings to the front and rear wheels, like on other cameras.

I have an X-T4, which is slightly bigger than the T5, and I don't find the dials fiddly. Back on the X-T1 they were a little more awkward as you had to press a button and turn, but now they're much better.

Best thing would be to get to a camera shop if you can, and get one in your hands.

thats what I was told , you had to press a middle button then twiddle them round
is that not the case any more

thanks

They still have buttons to press which releases the dial. I wish the exposure compensation dial had one as well!

You just to try it out for yourself, it’s a marmite thing.

tbh, I tend to use my X100f in Av with auto ISO so I don't take tend to use the dials too much - unless I want a constant/controlled exposure for matching shots or a panorama etc

Using the dials is no different to using the FX3 film camera anyway though.

On some (?XT-1?) you had to press the central button to turn the dials but later models allowed you to either lock the dials using the buttons or leave the dials unlocked. Much prefer the later type!

Don't listen to them. Once you've got one in your hand, then you can decide.

Me too, as I regularly nudge mine while taking the camera out of its bag.

I have 2x XT-2's you press the button and it pops up and unlocks the dial. A second press and it locks down and locks the dial.
Absolutely no bother whatsoever. The XT-1 you had to press and hold but that's long gone.

And a larger On/Off switch, I struggle to use that with gloves on :(

The middle button either locks or unlocks the dial, you don't have to use it unless you want to "lock in" your SS or ISO.

thanks everyone , am going to go to wex and have a look at them
