Dunno. I bought an X-T2 and registered with Fuji for news and updates. Nothing has come through from them about all this.

It's been all over social media for a few days. Fuji rumours usually leak it a week before.

I think your definition of "all over social media" might differ from mine.

But even so, I don't want to have to rely on seeing an announcement by chance, and I don't want to have to check the manufacturers' websites every day or every week to see whether there's any new firmware. Surely there must be some sort of process for registered owners/users to be notified of issues which affect them?

My IQ isn't low enough for social media. I rely on Fuji to tell me, as I've registered with them for news and update information.

All the lens updates do is "Improvement of tracking function of parallax correction in the OVF" so just one for xpro users I guess.

Is this not an upgrade (lenses) so they work better with the enhanced focus tracking with the X-T2 ?

No that is not why the lenses have an upgrade - it's all on the Fuji UK website.

OK, it's just that some have noticed the lenses are working better on their X-T2's than before. I upgraded my T1 & all my lenses yesterday.

X pro 2 is certainly faster to focus and the hit rate has also improved, for me anyway. The OVF parallax focus is a lot more accurate also and there are extra focus points added as well. On top of that the flash settings can be added to the Q menu apparently and they have added a few more auto power off options.

I'm a bit disappointed with he X Pro 2 FW upgrade, I was expecting the same configurable AF as the X-T2. I've just upgraded and so far al I can see are more addressable focus points.

It's the same focus system as in the t2 but without the custom options. It's still a decent upgrade to be fair.

I thought the main point was that the basic focus algorithm had been lifted from the X-T2 for faster and more accurate focusing, rather than being more configurable?

Typical me, I just assumed :( It would be nice to have the same AF set up in both cameras though, after all they are the Fuji flagship models. For me the X Pro 2 is a nicer camera, but the X-T2, well, it does 4K video, and the AF is more suited to some types of photography. I was in Barcelona all week, I only took my X-T2, I enjoyed using it, but I wished I'd brought my X Pro 2 instead.

I prefer the handling of the XP2 I just feels better in my hands. I also love having the option of the hybrid viewfinder, granted this is most useful for short primes. I also think it looks so much better. It's just one of those things I can't articulate, for me the XP2 just feels right.

I'm the same Jim, I bought the X-T2 a couple of weeks ago but sold it (making a small profit) yesterday because I just enjoy shooting with the X-Pro2 more. Nothing wrong with the X-T2, just personal preference :)
