Hello!

I've recently placed an order for a FujiXM5 for Jessops which is on pre-order as it's out of stock everywhere. I've just come across Cotswold camera's and have gone down a rabbit hole of grey imports etc.

What's everyone's thoughts on it? It's £40 more expensive on Cotswold Cameras but I can get it within a few weeks whereas Jessops have said 1-2 months and that's not even a guarantee. Has anyone received XM5 lately?

It is a rabbit hole. I'd take Trevor's advice and buy second hand, if I were you. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

I purchased my Nikon D780 from Panamoz so it is a grey import and have not had any issues with it. Unless you have ethical reasons not to buy grey I see no reason not to - UK cameras are no more (or less) reliable than any others.

For clarity; the D780 was purchased as a business tool using a company credit card and both import duty and VAT were paid before delivery. Even then I still saved a couple of hundred quid and got a 3 year warranty into the bargain.

I've brought a couple of grey import lenses, the saving was more than worth it.
