Yes
A friend of wife has the above camera and wants to know how to shoot macro with it. If I could get my hands on it I'd probably sort it out in an instant but they are in Leicestershire.

They also want to know if they could fix a close up diopter to it, I'm thinking something like the Nikon 5T or Canon 500D, I believe the camera has a 55mm thread at the front so an adapter is an obvious must, I presume it will work okay with the camera.

Can anyone help with this?

On the back there's a menu button with four directional buttons around it. Press "left" to switch macro mode on/off (indicated by a flower in the top-left corner of viewfinder).

Not sure on your other problem, but yes it does take 55mm filters.

My 5500 has a picture of a flower on one of the buttons which turns the Macro on and off. Fuji don't do a macro attachment only a WA and TC add on. could probably use close up lenses though.

The little tulip icon is a pretty well universally used symbol to denote macro mode... it's actually used on the mode select knob on the 20D.

macro isnt great on the s5600 :(

Yeah. Its not BAD, but you can't get closer than about 20cm, it just can't focus at that range.

i think you can get closer than that. I'll check later. :)
