freelance what does it mean?
A magazine sore some of my photo's and said there might be some freelance stuff at show's arounds the uk that they might use me for. do you get paid or does it mean you are for free.

If you are freelance it means they will only pay for what they use, and usually at their rates - so have some other customers in mind when shooting at the event.

It means you work for yourself - i.e. not for a company or agency.

Freelancers often do varied stuff (different types of photography) and sell their images to appropriate sources.
