Hoya 52mm SuperHMC PRO1-D Star-4

Bought this a week or two ago from Bristol cameras for use in my 300mmF2.8IS, it just about fits in the Dropin Filter holder but wont fit into the lens... I only bought it as an impulse buy along with a few ND filters, so dont actually need it, I could modify/butcher it to fit, but cba... So I offer it here "Free to Good Home", if you have a lens that can use 52mm Screw thread Filters and will actually use it and post at least a couple of images with it, post here and its yours....

Hope someone snaps this up as its a quality item being part of the Pro1D range, if a few of you want it maybe we could arrange some kind of tie in with the monthly competiton whereby the highest scorer amongst those who want it, WIN it.

As im not charging at all for this and im also paying P&P my only requirement is that your UK based, if an international TP member wants it, fine but your paying postage.

I will stop taking requests for this item on Friday at 9pm to give everyone a chance to see it... If just 1 lucky person wants it I will post it out Saturday morning. If no-one is interested I will crawl back under my rock and get my angle grinder out and butcher the damn thing til it fits.

Oooh mine is 52mm i'll take it mate.
I'll make a donation to a local charity for it

Gratz Brummie... if you want to pm me your Address ill get this thrown in the post on Monday... Too busy playing with me new 5D yesterday to remember about this thread. :)

As for the Charity Donation... please dont on my account... Im very Anti-Charity after my Mother worked for Barnados for several years and saw how they waste HUGE amounts of money on Company Cars and unrequired meetins and trips.

Thanks matey PM on route :)

Do they really???

I have received it mate. :)

Thank you for the generosity. Hopefully i can return the favour in the future.

Will get some pictures up as soon as possible.

Looks like it could be very hit and miss effect...

I do like the Graffiti shots, nothing to do with the star filter though...

And also the effect its giving to the highlight on the bin is kinda cool, but i think it would be hard to use the effect, purposefully.

Its basically giving the opposite effect of a polariser and emphasing the sheen.
One thing i did notice was the need for a lens hood. Especially as the filter works best pointing towards the sun.Lots of shots were unusable due to being really high contrast.
It also confuses the camera a bit so focusing sometimes becomes more dificult.

Would be great for use with diamond jewelery me thinks :)

Thanks again anyhow. Will try use it more when i get time.
