I'm a member of the NZ site below which has just expanded to allow other countries to join, so thought i would let you all know. Its a young site which has just had its 1st Birthday this month. Other fellow UK photographers are registered. And if it appeals to you to join ,just click on your National Flag and do so.
USA and Australia residents are also on board under their national flag.
NZ has 400 photographers, and 11,000 photos online, this is a great place to market your photos. Free to join, free to upload photos. PhotoSales turns your photos in to sellable gifts and prints.

I am just a member, and trying to let other phographers know of its existence. Its up to the individual to join if they so wish.

Sportysnaps....am not wanting to get into a dispute over this site.. But if you read it correctly it says its a new site and just opened up to other countries .

LOL Pill taken...But biteing my lip..
One would think a little more FREE exposure of their talents wouldn't hurt, would one!!

Hey I'm not dissing your site, but a lot of people are more than happy with this place. There is always Flickr too, which I guess more than allows for their work to be shared...

G.

Just a wee question Gary... On flickr, are the photos safe from others copying them to their PC

Am asking as i have thought of becoming a member of Flickr but i dont want others being able to load my pictures, especially if i have them forsale on another site.
Thanks for that

For example from your site:
watermark2.php

Whats the point in even looking at that photo? It has been WRECKED by an INSANE watermark. How can one trully get a feel for it before buying?

Gary.
Personally, i would rather the watermark for protection than nothing.

Ok thankyou for that.

From the site

Photographers are free to submit as many photos as they like

Well I have over 60 thousand pics on my website..I am one of the top 3 bandwidth users on fotopic.net with an average 2.5 million+ photo hits a year. .. I wonder if this one would take the strain :) it does say as many as I want :)

There is such a thing as quality control :D.

Of course you can protect your work on Flickr. Go to Accounts/privacy and permissions. You can set it so no one can download the larger size, and even right-clicking/save as on the medium sized image will not work!

Yeh but in FF if you highlight the pic and view image source you can see the location of the image or in IE just view source then you can see the image code copy paste then get it though

But you already have it.. It has to be downloaded to your computer in order for you to see it.. so its in your internet cache already :)

This is the strange thing about people trying to stop others downloading there pictures when they already gave it you by default so to speak.

This all sounds great to me, thanks for the heads up nikpix.

If you don't like the idea then don't sign up no need to have a go!

That watermark is indeed ridiculous. I'd rather dig a hole than look at it again (although thankfully I don't have to do either of those things).

Want a bet...flickr is soooooo easy

I have only ever found one site on the net where I could not get an image if I wanted it (for personal use) - the site in question has found a way of stopping all the normal methods including screen shots - no I’m not going tell you the website ( I do some work for them)

I looked at my earlier comments and thought maybe I was a little harsh – so sorry I have now looked on the NZ website – I really should have done so before, I was really surprised – where are the sports shots? NZ is sport mad…

Thanks and your welcome russbates.

Was starting to think being part of this forum was a mans world and for insults only.

 Stopped screenshots....it's not big or clever, and is easy peasy to do, for example one method is guardian's image guardian.

Even it, which is considered the best has EASY to use loopholes to allow grabbing of an image.

Gary.

Hmm, took me 30 seconds to grab an image protected by image guardian

It can't be done.. the whole conept of the www is that whatever your looking at must be downloaded to your computer in order for you to see it..

Every website in the world. using whatever trickery you can think of.. MUST be downloaded to your computer in order for you to look at it..

So it is impossble for anyone to stop you downloading there pictures when you must download it to view it..

The only way is to build a website... describe your picture... but dont show it :) just print it out and hide it under your bed :)

There is one way to make it very difficult:

'Cut' your images up into lots of little squares, then show those squares in a grid ~ to the viewer the picture looks normal, but if you try to save it, you only get one little square. If someone tries to save all the squares, they would then need to put the whole lot back together.

but again, the print screen would solve that problem really quick. even if you block it, you just have another tiny window open, open the image and click the new window, print screen works again! agree with kipax, nothing you can do, unless it doesnt go on the net

Yes, and even if you found some way of disabling the PrintScr capture, there are other 3rd party applications which will do it.

Thankyou to the positive people that posted in this forum and the apoloigies, which are accepted.
And to those who became members of photosalesuk, all the best with sales of your work.
