A friend of mine has lost some JPEGs from the card in her compact camera and I'm trying to help her recover them.

Can anyone recommend any free software that might help please?
 
Cheers guys. I'm using a Mac so just checked out Disk Drill. It looks good but it's $89 to get the version which recovers lost files.

I was hoping for a freebie :)
 
Recuva and Rescue Pro have both worked well for me. I don't know if they'll work on a Mac platform, but can't you get get access to a PC if necessary?
 
Ryan, if you're still stuck, I have a couple of RescuePro keys that are surplus to requirements. PM me if you need one.
