Hi,
Any recommendations for free back-up progs? Need to back up 8.1 to an external drive.
I'm sure there was a thread on this recently but can't seem to find it!

My IT expert has set up a back up system for me using Robocopy, a free utility in windows, apparently. It copies all your files to a new location and every time you click on it will make the same changes on the back-up as you have made on your main hard drive. So when you delete images on your main drive it will also delete them on your copy. Saves a lot of space.
 
Crashplan is a good option. You can backup offsite to a friend or family member's computer or just have them plug in your hard drive.
 
If you want an image than macrium reflect is great. For files like documents and the likes I use the built in file history function.
