Found, re-worked slides?

I saw this thread while looking through the new/unanswered thread button: More images without a camera. Old commercial slides, apparently with colour distortion, but he must have done something else seriously chemical to them, I think.

Try Photoshop curves and make the curve a bell jar.... It's a step in that direction.
