I finally got round to having a film processed that came with a Ross Ensign 12-20 that I bought a while ago.
I'm fairly sure it was taken in Madeira but I'm not 100% about when, late 60's early 70's? Maybe a bit later?

This guys sucking it in for the camera

After seeing these I quite fancy a trip to Madeira

Anyone else got any found film shots?

Nice!

I have a bunch of stuff on my Flickr scanned from flea market slides. Will post some after the match when not on the app.

I think they are definitely Madeira as it's famous for the Monte toboggan ride. Ernest Hemingway said that ride in the the wicker basket toboggan sled was the "most exhilarating experience" of his life. It looks scary to me.

100% madeira

love the toboggan ride

Interesting when you come across some history from an unknown film isn't it?

I've got some waiting to be scanned ....Stand devd some films a couple of days back ...120 verichrome, 620 verichrome pan, Ilford HP5 and a TriFCA 127.

Difficult to tell if there is anything at all on the TriFCA ( possibly a very faint neg) but the other films have at least a couple of frames worthy of scanning.

Love reading posts like this, it's like opening up a magic box of history with all those memories of forgotten people inside

That's very definitely the Madeira I know and love! The toboggan ride starts way up in the hills inland over Funchal and the cable car ride up there to Monte really is quite spectacular, it's definitely one of the 'must do' things if visiting Madeira. That said I've never actually done the toboggan ride, it would be like trying to stop an artic with me in there!

Nice old images. :)
