I'm really enjoying this forum so far and it seems to be much more active than other forums which still exist out there.

I have noticed that in the critique forums people tend to post multiple shots. I find this a bit off-putting as it is nice to see a single photograph and be able to focus my critique on it.

In addition, some members of this forum seem to spend considerable time commenting and giving their opinion on people's critique. Does this irk anyone?

What other interesting forum habits have you mentioned?

I think maybe your first observation, i.e. that this forum is more active than many others, is in part down to the things that irk you :D

People posting "for critique" then only replying to the favourable replies and pretending that the other, less favourable but far more valuable posts that can actually give pointers to potential improvments never existed.

People posting "for critique" and then never returning to the thread to acknowledge the help they've been given - or to answer any questions that may have been raised.

People Posting in critique forums but stating "this was just a snapshot, but I wanted to share it with..." - fine - share away, but post it in Photos for Pleasure - the only non-critique forum on the board.

I could go on (and on, and on, and on...) but frankly, that probably says more about how, as a moderator, I end up getting dragged into all the "disfunctional" threads, and seldom get to see the happier ones.

I tend to agree with the OP's point about multiple pictures being posted for C&C. Especially when they're often (the multiple photo threads) more snapshots that photographs. Having said that, I'm probably as guilty as others, although I don't post many shots for C&C. TBH, there could be a case for P4P being expanded to cover all the subsections that the C&C section does so those who want to simply share their shots (snaps or photographs!) can do so without having them ripped to shreds. Please note that I'm not advocating a "Please blow smoke where the sun don't shine" area, just a sharing one where no C&C is wanted.

Not complaining at you, rather for you ... absences have been noticed, :)
