Formatt Filters

just be careful if buying from these guys,

I first got the wrong order, cost me to send back, then when i got my order the 10stop was marked. leaves spots on images.

not saying they are bad, just wasnt give my postage back when they sent wrong item, i didnt use the 10stop for a month or two, saw marks on there but didnt try to clean it, until the day i used it and marks didnt remove. I know this was my fault but to late to deal with it.

I've got the formatt filters as well, my only negative was it took them nearly a month to ship out as they didn't have something in stock but nobody thought to tell me until I gave them a call... anyway, good product so I'm happy now.

In terms of size, the grads are rectangular (i.e.150x100) so you can slide them up and down in the filter holder to align with the horizon properly - shows up as 100mm filters in the shopping basket though.

I agree with JimR and mah1880. formatt directly can be very slow.

I also use these filters but with the nice cheap cokin p holders, i bought the 85mm because i only had 52mm lens at the time but now with the 77mm 10-20 i still manage just fine. On wide angle below 12mm have to use the wide angle cokin p holder, if i add the hoya pro-1 circular polariser and the wide angle holder with one filter i get a bit of vignetting at 10mm and 11mm, the joys of wide!

Yep

Well it's the only one I've used so I've nothing to compare it against. IMO it's a piece of plastic to holder filters in place, it does its job. I'd imagine a LEE holder would be more expensive and do the same job. TBH I rarely use mine, it's just there in case I want it one day. I now some people have issues with polarizers and filter holders but it isn't something which affects me so I'm happy with what I've got.

Hi Chris,
What happened to your Lee Holder and filters then, the ones you bought in June 09 ?
C

not that I've ever used them together but I've got the 11-18mm & the Cokin wide holder for P.
if you can wait a day or 2 I'll take some shots with the combo & see if there's any vignetting (I guess that's your worry?).

i would be interested to see the results of the combo,as i have the above, and am wondering about the vignetting.if it's not visible[or not that much]i just need to buy the 77mm ring and the wide angle holder.
