One of my fellow pilots has just pointed out this site to me. Anyone looking to take shots of jets getting "down and dirty" could do a lot worse than starting here.

Now online Due to a system breakdown the forum has had to be rebooted which means that all data has been lost and you will need to register again.
The hell?!

I run a php Bulletin Board for another free flying site and what it means is the silly fella never backed up the data thus losing all his registered users:bonk: :cuckoo:

how do they do that? i mean how do they get the pics from above the planes?

Did you visit the site? They have pictures and maps of the locations they use!

Hacker: The site seems to cover the whole country but best opportunity seems to be the lake District, Wales or Scottish Highlands (These are the where the restricted areas are located).

You can get shots like that at Loch Ness. I was up there a few years ago watching the planes fly past, from the top of Urquhart Castle at Drumnadrochit.

Above Loch Ness, but I was in the air too. Hence the shakey shot!!

16-35mm lens BTW so pretty close!

I think I'd have been shaking too! Do you think he even saw you? ;)

Yep! From several miles back. He had valley walls on each side and pulling up would have put me in his wash so flying underneath was a very gentlemanly thing to do. :)

You mean you were airborne when you took this shot??
