Yes
Does anyone know what the BBC pay for photos that appear on their fotball website?

I'd assume they paid an annual licence to the various picture agencies rather than per picture.

I would be surprised if Getty,Action Images and Rex Features "do free" all appear on the BBC website.

You know that Getty and AI(Reuters) are subscription agencies don't you? And that Rex has cut price deals with almost everyone?

Yeah it seems they don't pay for photos, had one of there before and didn't get a penny.

Ive been paid for 2 pics over the years but unfortunately not action photos, one was a pic of a gay player and the other a deceased player, thats RL and i know 100% they do pay for RL photos either and usually through SWPIX or the occasional freelancer

Contact the sports desk at Media City in Manchester should you want paying.

This year alone we have amassed a total now into four figures resulting from Copyright infringements.

To think you can face jail if you don't pay your licence fee - it is a joke.

........

Has anyone received an email similar to this..?

if so am most intrigued

Hello XXX

BBC XXX is launching a new service called BBC XXX Local live next week. It’s a rolling news service which will sit on the “XXX” section of the BBC website (please take a look at the link below for a similar service already running in the Staffordshire area).

One thing I’m keen to do is include lots of photos !

So I’m getting in touch to see how you would feel about us republishing some of your photos in our Local Live stream – with a credit of course. I’m thinking of photos which you have already published, through social media or on the XXX website.

haha never thought of that.

I had one pic paid for by the BBC and made double that when a universaty took it.. removed the credit the bbc put in bottom corner and reused..

Nope not had an email like that.. would be glanced at and binned without a second thought..
