Hi all

I've had a quick scan through the various threads & understand that you need a full media Dataco (or whatever it's called) licence to tog at a premier league match .

Can't see any info regarding the Reserve teams though ?

Basically I've got the chance to go to one of my local League 1 team's , Reserve Team match's & wonder where I stand as regards either posting shots up on here or having them published ( if any were good enough ) in the local paper/sports paper ?

I'm not really looking to become a Football tog but spent an afternoon at another locals team home match (League 2 ) & thoroughly enjoyed myself . I went with their official tog who checked my photo's & was quite impressed with them for a 1st time effort . & no , none have been posted anywhere...I understand & appreciate the rules of League football photography :)

I'd love to be able to post some shots from the reserve team match simply to get feedback ....I love my photography & anything that moves is great with me plus it's all valuable practice & experience . I simply want to be able to build some sort of portfolio for myself showing the breadth of the types of photography I can do .

Sorry for waffling a bit....any info much appreciated

cheers, Lynne

Oh b****r...so much for being incognito

As I only met one other tog there (possibly 2 ) I'm guessing you must be Pauls friend ? Or maybe not...I'm carp with names so you maybe the other tog we were next to in the 1st half ?

so 'fess up....

My 2p worth. Have you got the £2million public liability insurance that Dataco require just in case a player runs into you and gets injured. They might be reserves but first teamers play in these matches and you need to be covered.

I spotted ya at Don Valley too Lynne;). Reserves images are the same as the first teams I'm afraid!!. Kind regards Graham.

TBH I cant really remember how far the DataCo agreement goes but I'm fairly sure it doesnt cover reserve games only Prem, Championship and L1-2 games. Rotherham is a strange one anyway as they play at the Don Valley so not strickly a "league" ground. I'm sure someone will jump in and be more precise but if in doubt check with RUFC and ask if their reserves are covered by DataCo restrictions.

I was speaking to you with Gordon for flips sake!!

nice cele image in the Star! was that yours?

Flippin 'eck...gonna have to get a better disguise me thinks

Insurance not a problem .

The reserve match is not RUFC & will be at a PL1 ground . No problem with not being able to post them up but would have liked to get some feedback...hey ho..should be fun anyway :)

If anyone see's me again...please come n say hi ...contrary to what you may have heard , I don't bite....not very hard anyway :D

I'll have a chat with the teams involved & see whats what , don't wanna get in trouble !

Lynne
I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who will give you a critque if you ask nicely and send them the images.

Thought so:razz: when you said you had the "People & star" covered with Howard!, I guessed it couldn't have been his:D.

I'll send you my email via PM Lynne, I'd be happy to see your pics:) (behave any odd thinkers:nono:). Kind regards Graham.

Am I spotting the symptoms of Early Onset Dementia in a couple of the posts on here?

Thanks all

Quite looking forward to the game , not sure how my lowly kit will fair in poor light...only got a D90, used my tamron 70-300 at RUFC game, may try the sigma 150-500 for more reach & sharper shots at the reserve match though .
I seemed to be at the wrong end of the pitch for most of Rotherhams game

As it gets darker earlier f2.8 lenses become vital. A better option for you may be the Sigma 120-300 f2.8 if you know of anyone who may lend you one.

Me and Graham was at the wrong end for the whole of the game!
