I've used a bulb release and SRS bracket for years for my fishing self-takes but thought a plug-in cable would be neater. After a couple of failed attempts at cobbling something together I have found one that is commercially available at last. I've not caught anything worth using it for when fishing  but have used it for 'studio' shooting with the camera on a tripod. It's available with a range of plug options for major camera brands. The plugs are on what look like the adapters you can buy for generic wired releases from online market places so no need to buy more than one pedal if you run multiple camera systems.

I have no affiliation just thought this might be of some use to one or two on TP. Delivery was quick. Time will tell how long it lasts.

I worked as an assistant in a studio during the late 1960s and my boss had an air release built into a custom made pedal.

I used to use a cable remote and set the camera to shoot continuously with 10 seconds between the shots. I found that I could set the first timer and then lift the fish and just let it keep shooting until done

I know people who do that but it didn't work for me. A lot of people seem to manage with wireless remotes held in one hand. Tried that once and gave up!
