Fonts, Hand writing and help needed

Hi all

Ive got afew questions. Firstly I use a Mac and Cs4 Not over happy with all the typing fonts and wondering if anyone knows of any free fonts to download? Im looking for a handwriting fonts in possible.

Also wondering how I do a straight line and then make it look like its fading at either end? actually I know how to do the straight line using the single row marquee tool. just want it to look faded either effect end like a grad. Its just to put into my images etc.... Just playing about see if i like the look of things.

You need to go to www.dafont.com, loads of free handwriting fonts. For the line you need to set up a custom Grad tint in Illustrator, with white at either end and the colour fill in the middle, adjust the sliders so you can set where it fades in and out etc. Hope this helps Matt

should just about see you right! they have MAC and PC formats for download and no annoying pop ups from them either!

For the fade, in photoshop, use the layer style and add a gradient overlay. You need to create a custom one with white at each end. Unless you mean you want to taper each end?

Dafont is the place. Think there's a nice script font on there called Bradley's Hand, which is a good download; handwriting-style but still very legible.
