I am on the hunt for a new screen for my etrs. The one in it is dirty and hairy and grim, and with the magnifier pretty bad!

I have googled and had no such luck. Anywhere stock them?

^ as far as focusing screens go, that's pretty cheap really. I know they are quite specialised, but have a look at any of the Beattie Intenscreen's to have an idea of what an expensive focusing screen costs...!

I know they can be stupid money but I meant they were pricey as a % of what a complete ETRS would cost.

I have of late been shooting a lot with my ETRS and AEIII. The screen is horrible, compared to other cameras I own. But I do like the Bronie

I have partially cleaned the screen but they are easy to damage so I do urge caution on that option.

I too have been on the look out for a replacement screen for a while and have sent two screens back to sellers that were advertised as 'excellent condition' and proved to be no better than the one that came with the camera when they arrived. The term excellent condition is clearly a relative concept!

In truth though over time I have learned to live with the grotty screen and I will now probaly just get on and work with it. I do wonder if Bronica Screens were a bit cheap and soft hence the abundance of Bronies out there with poor screens.

In truth though the screen will make no difference to the final result!

I can categorically prove this. I have an extortionately expensive Beatty Inter Screen in my Hasselblad, it is lovely, crisp, clear and bright BUT my shots are still lamentable:lol::lol:

lol...so true.

I have an expensive acute matte D screen for my Hassy....its so much brighter and crisper than the standard screen. Doesn't make my photos any better...just means my lack of artistic vision is brighter on the screen :)

Whenever I consider buying focusing screens, viewfinder attachments, prisms etc., this is always the thought that runs through my head! :D

Hi, Give " Mr Cad" a look, you might just get what you're looking for.

Thanks for the replies, guys. If I werent tight on money I'd go for it, but after looking at the prices, I may have to pass

Regarding cleaning it, how do I go about it?

I used lint free cotton buds and a sparing amount of Isopropyl alcohol. That said it is still a delicate task.

I cleaned several stubborn marks quite well but created a new mark unintentionally!!!

Cleaner beware is I guess he motto.

Indeed if you can see and frame images OK and the marks are just a nuisance I would live with them to be honest.
