The AF in Tokina 11-16 is randomly choosing Focus point length on the scale. It means that lens is focusing in front or behind the object. It's not happening during live view, where the camera and lens has got always 100% accuracy. Where is the fault? The Camera is Nikon D7100. I tested this with other lenses (one fixed 35mm and one standard boxed VR lens - and no issue with BF or FF

I think this video can tell you evrything.

Please Help

The camera/lens doesn't know what you want to focus on. Set `single` focus point & aim at a specific area/subject.

I did it. You can see it at the beginning of the short film

I use the Canon equivalent of this lens, and have had issues with it - did you manage to resolve yours?

We thank you for your inquiry to our products.

We would like to inform you that those movement isn't abnormal.
Even if a ranging area of the camera is set in 1 central part,
this is a super-wide-angle lens (the angle is wide), so the measuring
area of the camera will measure the wide area in the whole picture.
When setting the focal length as the 16mm side,
its slight motion becomes small, so a measurement error will be small.

Since this lens has a large rotary angle of the focus ring, it may work
in a measurement error small.

Please inform it if defective when you used it practically.

Thank you for your continuous support.

Best regards,
Ken H.
