Not sure if this is in the right section, but here goes..

I've got a Canon 30D, but when I try to focus on anything, it only seems to focus on the top focus point.

It seems to do it regardless of the amount of light, and has nothing to do with the lens as it happens with both of my lenses.

Can anyone help me?

Have you tried de-selecting the focus points to either all or just the centre?

To change the focus point, looking at the camera from the back, push the top right hand button and twiddle one of the control wheels or use the little stick. You'll see the various focus points light up. Pick the one you want.

I've tried this and changed it to all of the different points, and it still doesn't change a thing :(

Edit - Oh god, i'm such a retard. Found it.

Its that "Simpson's" moment; Doh.....

Go on though, tell us. What didn't you do? ( I went out with the family and didn't have any film in the body I took once, and years later went out for the day with out a memory card in the camera. Only done each mistake once though, or at least so far!

I just didn't think of pressing that button, as i dont remember ever pressing it to change it haha
