Sadly was probably inevitable, they've struggled since the Regional Part of BMI was bought out of he company when it merged with BA back in 2012.
Similar situation to FlyBe really, linking Regional Airports to smaller European Airports

bmi had been in dire straits even before Lufthansa bought it several years ago, BA (ICA) only wanted the lucrative business so that left BMI Regional and bmibaby. Germania went to the wall just recently - nothing to do with Brexit...

Exactly - bmi have long been struggling to put bums on seats. Inadequate revenue only ends one way(n).
It could be interesting to see what routes and crew are taken up by the sister company Loganair.
